2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS

As the largest and most luxurious of the Mercedes-Benz SUVs, the GL-Class has always been a spectacular vehicle. Now, with the unveiling of the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class at the LA Auto Show, the flagship luxury SUV gets a complete makeover and upgrade to bring it even closer to its S-Class sedan counterpart. Appropriately, this “S-Class among SUVs” brings all of the style, luxury and grandeur that Mercedes-Benz is renowned for, and delivers it in a capable and spacious sport utility platform.

Here at Mercedes-Benz of Westminster we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of this newest edition of the premier luxury SUV. From what we’ve seen so far, the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLS is sure to be the most exceptional full-size SUV on the road. And with the full complement of safety and handling features that every Mercedes-Benz vehicle receives, it doesn’t get any better for our Denver-area driving conditions than the new 2017 GLS-Class.

New Mercedes-Benz GLS Features

GLS Interior

As you would expect from the top-tier Mercedes-Benz SUV, the new GLS-Class will be extraordinarily well-equipped. With standard safety components like Attention Assist, Pre-Safe, rearview camera and the full suite of stability control features, the GLS-Class promises to be one of the safest vehicles on the road. It also offers some of the best comfort features for 7 adults in its 3-row seating configuration. The heated front seats are standard, and second row heated seats are an option. For extra convenience, the 3rd-row of seats are power-folding for additional cargo space.

Available powertrain choices include a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 in the GLS450, a 4.7-liter twin-turbocharged V8 in the GLS550, and a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 in the AMG GLS63. There will also be a diesel choice in the GLS350d version, with a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel. All models will come with the Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC® all-wheel drive system. An available Off-Road Engineering package increases the ride height from 8.5 inches to a full 12 inches, and provides extra suspension features as well.

Standard features in all GLS versions include remote start, cruise control, power driver’s seat with memory, a power tailgate, and power folding side mirrors. Available features include Active Blind-Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and a pedestrian detection system with automatic braking. A heated adaptive windscreen wiper system will also provide the best visibility in our Colorado winter weather, too.

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS Styling

Along with all of its new and updated features, the 2017 GLS will have newly redesigned front and rear styling, along with updated cabin features and infotainment systems. Interior finishes are even more luxurious, and there are several new upholstery choices. A larger and more prominently displayed infotainment screen will be poised above the dash, similar to other recent models. The sport-inspired 3-spoke steering wheel and larger driver information screen also add to the GLS-Class styling combination of form and function.

We here at Mercedes-Benz of Westminster are eagerly anticipating the arrival of this newest GLS-Class luxury SUV.
